DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implements and adheres to the approved policies and procedures operating within the purchasing function
Purchases all daily and weekly operating supplies.
Research prices and supplies of non mandated items.
Corresponds with suppliers for quotations, product and delivery information and preparing purchase orders as directed.
Processes all relevant invoice/delivery information and purchase orders through the nominated Purchasing/Cost Control system and pass to the Accounts department.
Controls awaiting credit notes and query invoices.
Maintains the Micros Materials Control system information updated and organised.
Undertakes ad-hoc trips to external retailers to purchase and source goods.
Monitors level of goods ordered on daily market list and liaise with department heads regarding anomalies.
Ensures that items in the loading bay are kept secure and in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Ensures storage areas are arranged and continuously maintained in a safe, clean and secure condition.
Undertakes sufficient training to maintain professional qualifications.
Assists with monthly stock-takes of the inventory storerooms and other areas as directed.
Views the other departments as internal customers and to provide an excellent service to them in order for them to excel in their duties.
Obtains regular positive feedback from the internal customers and suppliers.
TALENT PROFILE:
Experience:
Previous experience within a Purchasing and/or Cost Control function desirable.
Hospitality background required, preferably gained in an upmarket luxury food & beverage environment.
Previous experience using a Purchasing/ Cost Control system highly desirable
Skills & Knowledge:
Computer literate, especially using Microsoft Word and Excel
1С or equivalent accounting system
Articulate and fluent in both written and spoken English
Numerate
Education or Qualification:
Hospitality or business degree desired
Certification or qualification in Accounting or Cost Control is an advantage
